Let’s face it, most of us women who try to smokey eye look tend to get the raccoon eye look instead. Everyone thinks it’s this really hard, impossible to touch unless you are a make-up artist look. That isn’t true at all. What you need is the right products and a little patience and you can get the perfect smokey eye to add to your beauty arsenal.
First, prep the eyes with a eyeshadow primer or just by applying some foundation or concealer. Any of those choices will create a base for the makeup to stick to. You want to start with the liner, lining both the top and bottom rims of your eyes. Now you need to move on to a small eyeshadow brush or even just a q-tip and soften the edges of your line. Apply a dark shadow next, to the penciled area. The best way to do this is with a sponge applicator. But you can also feel free to smudge with your fingers.
The final touch is using a lighter eye shadow to encircle the entire eye area, soften and graduating as you move outwards to make things look perfectly blended. Add mascara and ta-da! A great smokey eye look for any night out. And here you though you did n’t have the beauty savvy to pull it off! Just take your time and you’ll look fabulous.
